Perspective

Some days my sight is too particulate
Stark and sharp
a million waving green swords
and floods to drown me.

My mind blankens
and I am powerless.

Those are the days
I want to be
lifted up
on the shepherd's
shoulders.

Then, silly me,
I get the view
of quiet waters
and green pastures.
